Yea, those are common mistakes, but I think just saying any type of "there" gets the point across.

Finch, I agree, but who would carry more weight in any given debate...?

Person A: wat u duin wit thos skilz, my bild so much beter...No0b

Person B: Those skills may not be the best choice for PvE, going with SoJ....

I would certainly give more credence to Person B. The proper use of grammar and punctuation lends greater credibility to a debate, more so than "forum speak".

This was brought up a couple of months ago....

If I am confused as to which term to use...I simply spell out all the words....so much easier.

I agree people should use better grammar, such as not saying "u" or "S00p3R c001". But I dont think its a big deal if you use the wrong version of there, their or they're. And to hell with apostraphes!!!!!!

I realize at this point there is no need to bother - grammar and proper usage of the English language has long died out over the internet. At least there are SOME of us who TRY. You won't see me using "u" for you, or "4eva" for forever. Just makes you look... I dunno... Stupid? I mean, how can you honestly hold an argument or serious talk when you type like this:

"wellz i thnk th4t itz worng for u 2 say th4t p30pelz w/diff bel13fz 5|-|0ld b3 pwned iz worng."

i fail to understand WHY they type like that. is it because it "saves time"? which i see as complete and utter BULL****?

just now i spotted someone like that in the Riverside Inn forum. the whole post was 2 sentences, yet it was nearly a paragraph-sized post. i had to shut down my brain just to read the damn thing.

Person A: lawl noob if u bring a rez sig u'll b totally pwnin in team arenas.

Person B: Why do people always bring res sigs? Warriors with mending are obviously the better choice against Necros.

Its all about the content...

I honestly don't see how it saves time, just as you. To me, it saves time in me wondering wether or not the person is a dumbass. I know it's a "new era" or some sort of new generation, but for Christ's sake, the last thing we need is new generation of politions saying "LOL China g0tz pwned" on an offical post-war document.

Is there an age cutoff for this sort of thing? I'm guessing that sometime after a person's 13th birthday they begin using proper grammar. I just can't see someone in their 20's taking the extra time it takes to type like that, knowing that it will only lessen them in the eyes of their peers.

$20 says you could find something WORSE than that small sentance; prehaps an entire paragraph of boundless H3LL.

It eludes me as to why these concepts are so difficult to grasp by some.

Oh well.

I asked my 14 year old Daughter and my 21 year old son if they use this type of communication....they flatly stated "NO"!

I was so proud....I got all misty!

Here goes a double post >.< To tell you the truth, I think it STARTS at 13, then dies off by the time the youth lays off the pipe (snort laugh). I'll be honest, I used to type with no worry of grammer or even capitals. Thenve wrote to tell if I'm an ass.

I remember I used to type like that back in the Starcraft and Diablo 2 days.

Like in Starcraft right when I killed someone I had to be quick or else I wouldn't be able to insult them properly.

That reminds me of something....

"I type four hundred, thirty three words a minute..... In my own language."
